Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj, German economy and climate minister Robert Habeck and Marija Pejcinovic Buric Secretary General of the Council of Europe meet survivors, who were forcibly kept as human shield by Russian occupiers in the basement of a School in the village of Jahidne, 140 kilometers north of Kyiv. At the beginning of March last year, Russian troops occupied the village and forced the remaining 350 inhabitants to stay in the basement of the local school. Ten people died due to the inhumane living conditions. More than a dozen other villagers are said to have been murdered by the Russian occupiers.
