German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul visits Lithuania on 5/01/2026. There he meets Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė, his Lithuanian counterpart Kęstutis Budrys, visits the Museum of Occupations and Freedom Fights, as well as the German Bundeswehr’s Panzerbrigade 45 „Litauen“. According to a spokesperson for the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin, the focus of the one-day trip is support for Ukraine, which was attacked by Russia almost four years ago, as well as close cooperation on NATO’s eastern flank and in the fight against hybrid threats.
